In addition to his clinical practice, from 2010 – 2016, Dr. Fitzgerald worked with physician assistants as a clinical professor at Rocky Mountain College in Billing, Montana. He has been published in many national publications on various medical topics, related to surgery, and has been a national speaker at 15+ national surgical forums. Dr. Fitzgerald is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. Dr. Fitzgerald is also a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Fitzgerald specializes in a full range of adult cardiothoracic surgery, with special expertise in minimally invasive valve, mitral valve replacement, and Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) surgeries. Dr. Fitzgerald’s believes in a collaborative, team based approach to care, involving the patient, family, the surgeon, and other members of the team.
